DV4 manages and encodes mobile video content for Player X, a leading UK mobile entertainment publisher and distributor. Having established themselves in the mobile games industry, Player X identified mobile video as the next key growth area. They proved how serious they were about this by buying the mobile rights for the FA Premiership in a number of territories including China. They have a range of other live action and animated content - Fox Studios' American Dad" being a high profile example.
Having little experience of mobile video, they needed a partner who could help them to take their content from rights deal to delivery as quickly as possible, with high quality and minimum fuss. They chose DV4 to manage the ingestion, encoding and distribution of their mobile video content because of our track record in the industry.
We work with their content partners to acquire source video in the most suitable high quality format which we ingest to our internal content management system (IVAM). On receipt of an order from a mobile operator, DV4 encodes the video to the required specification (MPEG- 4, H.263, AAC, AMR, 3GP etc.) and creates any required XML metadata files.
