Lift Channel
Client: European Space Agency (ESA)
Project Category: Interactive, Encoding
"Lift Channel" is a research project undertaken by DV4 and Inhouse Technologies for the European Space Agency. The aim of the project was to investigate the distribution of advertising and informational content using satellite technology.
The solution implemented allows video, graphics and data feeds to be combined to form a TV-quality presentation which can be distributed to players at remote locations. These players can be managed over a network connection and content can be updated without any need for human intervention at the remote site. Applications include advertising in retail locations, internal communcations in large companies and public information systems.
The project was completed successfully and the final
results were presented to ESA staff at the organisations R&D centre, ESTEC, in The Netherlands.
